Hi

I'm new to MB and recently bought my first call, wanting to change the head unit all went well and took a switched live feed from cigarette lighter. SRS flagged up and I read this was common for not disconnecting battery, school boy error, so I plugged in my obd2 cheap android reader to clear it. It didn't work now I have an SRS error, traction control error and worst still the fan now runs after the ignition is switched off, this only happened when I try the obd reader, which has been great on my other cars. I think it's blow or confused the ECU?? Problem is battery is flat in a bout 10 minutes, it needs replacing anyway but any advice? The fan stops as soon as the ignition is on but sounds like a jet when off. Thanks

Just an update if it helps anyone else, I managed to get an icarsoft mbII and went through the various codes and just cleared everything, some would not clear but afterwards, the car switches off and no radiator kicks in, great !! However now on ignition the headlight washers start and empty the water reservoir bit I can live with that

Basic rule. If you have issues with multiple unrelated circuits it's almost certainly an earth problem.

Well done.
What year is the car.?
If there is a fuse just for the headlamp washer, you can take that out, to ensure that the water reservoir is not empty, as that is a 'Police Considered' offence.

If you find an earth for the front SAM give it a clean (undo the earth and Emery paper everything then reassemble and coat it all in grease.

Hi its a 2003, I believe there's no separate fuse so I'll just disconnect them, will run the icarsoft again today to see if it fixes them
