Hi,
I've noticed that the remote boot release has become reluctant to work. I reckon something is on the way out, not sure what. Here's the symptoms:

- Open the car, then press the boot release on the fob. Nothing happens.
- Wait a minute or two and it finally works.
- Same thing happens with the internal release switch.
- If you open the car with the remote then push in the manual lock on the boot, it fails to open for a minute or so, then when it does open it won't close, bounces off the latch for a few minutes. Something not re-setting?
- I have noticed that a new noise in the car. When I open it and get it there's a noise that sounds like a pump running at the back of the car, which was not there until the last week or two. It stops after a few seconds.

I suspect there's maybe a vacuum pump, and with it being noisey now it's either leaking (holed pipe?) or dying off.

Any idea where I need to look to find the pump and pipework? Could it be a solenoid based release?

Thanks!
John

Thanks Malcolm,
I have a look. The pump is definitely running to timeout, I'll track down the leak.

Bye!
John
