- R230...about to purchase will update shortly
Hi folks I have a '98 E430 with Climate control - other than the continuing saga of trying to track down a regulator for the blower - been looking for over a year now to no avail so making do with airflow only at 'level 3'
Anyway, I have had leaking aircon for some while now - usual scenario. charge the system up and its fine for around a month or so then fizzles to nothing. Anyway took it into my Indy who reckon its a pinholed Condensor. To replace that c/w Dryer and do a recharge they quote 400+vat!.
Anyway I have bought from ebay an aersol of 'airco seal pro' (from Primalec.com)- around £35 which seals holes in condensors and evaporators etc - effectively you add it to the system and if it comes into contact with moisture as the gas escapes it hardens to seal the hole. I reckon this should work well with my system - though the exam question is that it says should not be used on systems with 'Hermetic Compressors'... Does that inlcude Mercs?!! - Any body had experience of using this stuff?? The primalec website although detailed doesnt seem to cover this.
