W210 aircon problem

I have had my alternator and alternator tension pulley replaced, they took out the radiator and aircon radiator to replace the two alternator bits, I now find my air con doesnt work\go cold could they have forgotten to do something at the indy garage, I cant open my bonnet to check as this is also stuck any advice would be very welcome.

oh deary me. presumably the bonnet used to open and the a/c used to be fine.

sadly they did not need to remove the rads, to change the pulley maybe but i never have - just struggle but to change the alternator it is not at all necessary.

were you told that the aircon system had been evacuated before and refilled after work was done? if it was not refilled then that will be why it does not work now. and if it was not evacuated they have broken the law . if your 'EC' light is on and will not turn off this confirms that there is not enough refrigerant in the system.

if the bonnet will not open this may be linked to them removing the 'slam panel' above the radiators which disturbs the bonnet catches and cables. does the bonnet release catch have any resistance to pulling or does it feel disconnected?

all in all it doesn't look too good for your garage.

There is resistance on the bonnet lever or there was untill I pulled it to hard, the passenger side isnt locking and the drivers side is jammed, it wont open pulling the cable with mole grips, the ec light can be switched on and off I have noticed that the fan speed seems to alter automatically but always blowing warm air. The cable is still attached to the bonnet, the job was carried out by the local indy. Thanks, He says the aircon was refilled and will be taking it back in next week.
