W210 Auto box delay

Guys I have a perfect 1996 W210 E230 Avantgarde,the auto box was changed so 50000 miles ago but I have a 5 sec delay in selecting drive or reverse.Box works spot perfect other than that somewhere theres a mismatch on the programming or something.
Any ideas how to cure it just a bit frustrating sometimes,thanks Johno

I have heard that an oil change can work wonders on these boxes, and make them much more responsive

Box could be low on fluid. Get it dipped.

Well fluid level is ok,have the correct dip stick,fluid doesnt seem discoloured,sure its something to do with coding on the box to the shift computor or something as she runs spot on when in drive just a delay on selecting drive or reverse only.
Any body else had same problem,cheers Johno.

you could have a problem with sticky solnoids in the valve body but i would change the oil first it can make a diffrence sometime and it is the cheapest opition
I very much doubt that its a coding problem

Ok will try the fluid change and torque converter.
What ATF oil is reccomended guys for this job,cheers Johno.

Only use MB oil Johno.

It's not that much more than 'normal' ATF. About £9 per litre.
