My e 320 cdi is showing up on the dash 'epc' , 'abs' , 'bas' and 'esp' warning lights.
thats electronic power control, abs easy, brake assist and the traction control.
I changed the brake servo and used a none merc part but seems good, had to rebleed the system used a pressure to put it through and used mercedes own fluid no problems at the time
I then changed the steering rack and used a non merc part too, when i installed it there were wires that didnt go into the new one.
I cant remember if the lights came on at this time or not.
When the diagnostic computer is put on it shows abs pump pressure problems. can anyone help cause im fed up spending money on it

The most common fault is the brake lamp switch that kills the can signal to the speed sensor circuitry

Confused as to why you have changed all these parts seems not necessary, the usual advice for the lighting display is Brake Light switch, steering angle sensor, low battery abs sensors etc first, specific braking and steering problems before changing of the big bit's maybe you need some "bleeding" assistance for your pump pressure, I am working my way through the "lighting display" at the moment have swapped Brake light switch tried reset for steering angle sensor too but never crossed my mind to swap rack and servo!

i'm sorry i havn't been clear. I replaced these parts due to them being faulty, i really dont have much luck, and now i have these new problems!!!
By the way does EPC stand for the electronics that govern the throttle, i ask cause i'm getting about 20 mpg at the moment!!
I also changed the heater plugs today and three of them were covered in a like tar substance some dry and some wet, these were in cylinders which had the injectors changed, the work was done by mercedes so should have been right but any ideas would be nice.
Great forum by the way and with my luck i'll soon be a prolific poster!!

When new components are changed the car needs to go onto STAR so that the car knows that it has these things or they must be activated.

You have changed the steering rack, what did you do about the ESP control

Sorry what is star? take it thats the computer think my mech did that.
My mechanic checked the brakes and pipes. He bled them a bit too and i think he said the lights were on before and went off when he changed the brakes.
The car is braking too much on the front right wheel and a cause for this cant be found apart from the garage computer reading an abs pump pressure fault.
Cant make it to the lunch, live in Northern Ireland and cant afford to feed myself due to fixing my car

You changed the servo, did this have the correct travel sensor

I dont know if it had the correct travel sensor in it, this never crossed my mind, i bought it from GSF and seemed to be good enough quality. I dont know if this would explain why it is braking harder on the front right. I'm keeping my eye out for an abs pump at humble money!!

And i will check the brake lamp switch but thye lights are working on the back of the car

The brake light switch causes problems nothing to do with the brakes
