W210 CD Installation Help

I have a 1998 W210. I am about to install an optical Cd unit to interface with my future command install. I have all equipment and pin connectors, the only info I am missing is:-

1. Where is the best place to mount the CD unit?
2. Where is it mounted in the factory install?
3. What is the best route to install the optical cable and the power cable which go to the command unit.

W210 saloon or estate?

If its the estate, there should be a hinged compartment in the boot on the drivers side behind the wheel arch if its the same as my W202

Not sure about the saloon - sorry !

Cables will need to be routed down the drivers side cable run - you will need to remove the door sills to access, and probably the rear seats to gain proper access, then remove the drivers footwell carpet and route under there and behind the centre instrument console to your COMAND.

Careful you don't bend the fibre-optic cable too much, or even worse Kink it !
