The glas on my RVM seems to be loosing the silvering on the back of the glass so it is starting to become difficult to see behind. Can the glass only be replaced, if so how?

Cheers :? :?

Ah good question, don't think it is, however the glass is clear even a tad 'grey charcoal' all the time and it certainly is not like the W211 E 220 Avangarde I drive part time which clearly does dim as following headlights lights hit it.

The car is the standard Classic, so no whistles and bells other than MB alloys

Hi,
I do not think the glass can be replaced as this year E class i,m sure had the same year view mirror as a w202, and mine certainlt can,t be replaced on its own.
Try these people, they do mail order as well.

Good source of warranted second hand parts.

Thanks for the info - not sure though if I use a 'stick-on' it will defrost. Will give MercMan a call, any ideas how difficult it will be to remove/replace the complete unit?

Thanks for the reassurance, seems a reasonable and cost effective solution - can't for the life of me think why I did not come up with that one!
