Before the 1500 mile trip we have just completed, I checked the hydraulic oil reservoir and cleaned the magnet etc. I went to find a new filter on the day before we left but my engineering factor didnt have one. The oil was dirty-looking, wrong colour, (golden), and now i have returned i want to check out the self-levelling suspension system, renew the filter, oil etc and make sure the system is fully operational before we take the caravan away next month for its first outing.
Can anyone tell me how i can FULLY check this self levelling masterpiece without, (obviously), resorting to MB? Thanks!
FYI, we just did a return trip to Perpignan, Pays d'Oc, and the experience was just divine! tell me about another Mercedes with this degree of smoothness and i will buy one, (but not a diesel, please!). OK, gas mileage was 29.2 for the round trip, around GBP 350, but for 2 persons travelling in this manner it is cheap motoring, even now!
