As title, disconnected the battery to recharge.

Windows work fine, but if you press the switches harder to get the one-touch operation, they don't move.

Is there a combination of buttons and things to re-enable this?

I finally got round to replacing my 6 yr old battery with a new one I bought a couple of weeks ago. The car is a E320CDI estate and the battery lives in the car under the rear offside passenger seat.

The swap and installation went OK but I found that the old battery breather hose was connected correctly but the breather hole at the other end of the battery had not been plugged.

Whether the battery installlation had been like this from new I don't know, however I hadn't smelt any fumes while driving.

To answer your question there are reset procedures for when the battery is reconnected:

Electric windows - turn ignition to position 2 and press each window switch in the fully closed position for at least 1 sec.

ASC - start engine and turn steering fully from lock to lock

Sunroof - ign pos 2, press sunroof operation switch to fully tilt roof and hold for a least one second.

There are resets also for electric seats if you use the memory functions and of course the radio code needs to be re-entered.

Hope this helps!

I should have said ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) it prevents wheelspin, it compliments the ABS system.

I prefer to call it ASC (Anti Skid Control).
