While washing the car today I noticed the air vent in the bonnet filling up with water. I lifted the bonnet and found a blocked drain on the left hand side.
This drains into a drain channel in the engine bay.
I also noticed a fine collection of leaves sticking out against the wings where the bonnet hinges are located. I pulled out as many as I could and flushed the drain channel there too.
I can't get to all the areas that have leaves and debris.
Anyone got any tips and can say if there are more problem areas?

Cheers

Steve

Thanks Malcolm
Any tips for removing the wet leaves from around the engine bay?

a hose and strimmer cord. Use hose gently and poke strimmer stuff down drain holes. I got two neat piles of compost behind the front wheels when I did that with the W140 as the dealer had parked it under a tree.

I used some 'boy-racer' aluminium grille

to make extra screens, to stop the leaves getting in through the gap between the firewall and and wiper area, right behind the block.
Wait for some dry weather and get the hoover and a fine nozzle attachment and get sucking at all the bits you can't reach with your hands.

If it's any consoloation, the w220 is even worse at collecting leaves than the 210. And I have both to clean up...
