W210 E300TD BAS light

The BAS (Brake ASsist) light has started to come on at startup. It only happens occasionaly but is becoming more frequent. Any ideas what to look for?

You need to get the fault codes read. There may be a number of reasons why the light is being put on.

most possible cause is brake light switch, about 6 quid.

Agree with Wagger. Common fault when the switch can't detect when it's in the off position.
