W210 E300TD Suspension noise - Are my suspension noises norm

Being new to MB, I have no idea what to expect in terms of suspension noise. Some maques are inherantly noisy but I didn't expect noise from an MB. I get muffled banging noises as I go over imperfections in the road. Is that normal on a W210? If not, any suggestions as to what could be wrong? My first suspicion would be the anti-roll bar links.

Your suspension should be silent.  What is the mileage?
My guess is also anti roll bar ball joints, try rocking the car sideways to test for this.

Hi DM,

It's done 74k. I'll start with the link arms (look very easy to do and they're cheap) and then move onto bushes.
