hey ladies & gents anybody know where i can purchase a auto box dipstick for these cars in the uk as im fed up of driving to the stealership to get the fluid checked . i want to be able to change the fluid and filter my self and dont wanner have to guess the fluid level.

after I convinced them that I knew what i was doing and that I'd never pay them to check my fluid. They are nice to me at my local outlet.

I ask again because im still unsure but can you buy a auto dipstick from main dealers or not ?

if they are on the ball they will confirm with you the type of gearbox you have.

for the part number. I'll try and get it from my dipstick and post up later tonight.
If they give you any trouble, just say that other dealers, Stratstones in particular, don't kick up a fuss. They may raise some argument about them not selling workshop tools, but that's thin ground as a dipstick is hardly the summit of workshop tool technology, and all the other mercs I've owned come with one fitted.
It's interesting to note that MB no longer think owners capable of checking their own gearboxes.
