Does the new radio use the same connectors as the standard one? If so, the the power MUST be getting to the new radio.

Are there any movable wires in the connector plug? Some radios need the yellow and red wires (normally) swapped over. These wires are the permanent live and ignition live.

You have to switch two wires around in the ISO plug, there are two standards.
I fitted an Alpine unit to mine years ago and had the same problem.

Switch the permanent live and ignition lives around.

Hi

I tried swapping the red and yellow wires around like the instructions said but nothing happened . It has standard iso connectors . The new unit takes cd's in and ejects them but thats it nothing else lights up . Put the old unit back in and it powers up and asks for the code . I noticed the old unit has an extra plug but i just assumed this was for the steering wheel controls.

Most head units will eject CDs with the front panel removed and ignition off.
If your radio is new it got to be wiring/no power?
