w210 e320 power steering noise

Hi,
My power steering makes a noise when lock is applied and throttle pressed, eg accelearing out of bends etc. I think this may be due to low fluid level? I took the car to my local MB dealer who pointed to the reservoir between the washer bottle and the nearside wing (RHD), this was slightly below min. I bought the correct fluid and topped up but has not cured problem. Is this the correct place to top up??

yes.

You may have a leak, when you've left the car overnight see if there is any pink liquid on the ground, and you should see where it's coming from.

You can buy a rad-weld equivalent for steering but I have no experience of using them.

Hi,
Just checked the height of the rear of the car and the nearside is about 25mm higher than the offside. I think the car has self levelling suspension so could this be related to my power steering noise? (tyre pressures are ok, also measured height with engine running.

self levelling does use the power steering fluid on the 210 .

poss you have an accumulator / sphere problem.

are you deffo checking on level ground ?

Have just checked car into dealer - so far they have identified 2 broken front springs, 2 leaking rear shocks, 2 rusty rear springs....(its a 2002 with 60k miles)

the sls/power steering on our 210

does use the same fluid, and it's not pink.
