on the RH side of the bay there is some kind of device (looks like some kind of valve) with the words MOT on it, has pipes and electical connection. at tickover this becomes quite noisy (ticking) anyone kow what this does and is it normal...

Also noticed there seems to be some kind of ticking eminating through the dashboard, wonder if its related..

Clicking...

Sounds like air conditioning compressor/evaporator. Located behind suspension strut on passenger side. Normal. Watch for excess clicking though, could be an a/c fault, potentially expensive.

the abs/traction etc unit ticks quite loudly-this is normal but how do you mean rh side? if you are looking at engine from front then its on the right, black and metal coloured, also groans when loosing traction and traction control comes on, but its not loud atal, only if bonnet up and ur near it. (the ticking)

Hi this is quite normal as this valve is called a regeneration valve it works with the egr valve and controls your emmisions.
