I have an E320 1996 N W210. I had a missfire and on investigation I found that No 6 plug (nearest the bulkhead) was full of water. Dried it out and all was fine. On removing the coil cover it was clear that the threads had beed stripped as it is very difficult/impossible to tighten it down. Additionally, it looks like that when it rains, the area below the windscreen wiper doesnot seen to have any means of stopping water from getting onto the rear of the engine. Dont know if this is correct.I have had to try and seal the cover down using clear silicone, not ideal and doesnot last long. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible to fit a shield below the wiper / scuttle panel to direct the water away from the engine, you could also consider fitting the shield to the engine..
