Does anyone know how to tighten the auto gear knob on a 1998 E Class Estate?

Your Mercedes
2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
turn the clamp at bottom of knob anti clock wise to loosen, knob pulls off
turn clockwise to tighten.
