hiya
how do i check the level on my 5 speed 1997 e320 gearbox?
do i need to do an oil change on it (just in case)..if so how..and also wheres the ****** gearbox filter
in fact while im posting wheres the pollen filter, charcoal filter and any other filter i need to change lol
sorry for being dumb..but no haynes manual= hard work me thinks

It may be one of the newer "filled-for-life" 'boxes in which case the oil should not need changing. But if this is the case and you still want to change it, you will need to buy the correct long-life synthetic oil (expensive- not Dexron II/III) and the filler/dip-stick part.

Check with you dealer with regards to what type you have.

Otherwise the dipstick/filler is normally near the rear engine bulkhead on the driver's side, with a flip/cap.
