W210 Headlamp Adjustment

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the headlamps on a W210? There are no obvious adjusters and the WIS refers to a Bosch tool with no other reference. I need to bring the N/S dip beam up to fill a hole between it and the O/S pattern so I just need to adjust the vertical alignment not the horizontal (although it would be useful to know how to do that as well)

On mine, there are two large plastic black knobs that you twist, on the top of each headlamp, but if yours is post-facelift then I don't know.

Hi Parrot,

I got no knobs nowhere! Its a Sept 2001 model with the 'range adjusters' (dash mounted headlamp levellers - don't know why 'cause its also got self-levelling suspension).

One alternative that I was seriously considering is to dismantle the whole lot, check out the adjustment and put it back together. That would be a lot quicker than taking it in for adjustment.
