w210 Heater Dial Illumination

Hi

The bulb behind the fan speed knob, and the passenger temp rotary control has packed up and rather than go to the Stealers I thought I would try and change it myself... other than take the fan knob off I cannot seem to remove anything else and so cannot get to it.

Can anyone help me?... Its so annoying....

there should be a small white FLAP the will move out of the way (rotate it anticlockwise as i recall) with a small flat head screwdriver

underneath that flap is the bulb which can be pulled out gently using a small pliers, i know, because i just did it on my merc c220,

problem is i need to get the replacement bulb from mercedes as the usual garages dont sell that particular type

Bulbs available from any decent motor factor. Take care to get the correct wattage. (Don't go to Halfords, theirs look similar but are too long and wattage incorrect).
