Hi all,

I'm just back in from running the wife to a do in her W210, this is the first I have driven the car in the (almost) dark for a while.
I noticed that the odometer display is a bit darker on the right side than it is on the left. Is this lit by a bulb on either side? And if so how easy is it to change, getting the instrument cluster out etc.
It doesn't really bother me as I hardly ever drive it, but the wife noticed it too and knowing what she's like it will only be a matter of time before she'll want it fixed.
Any advice gladly received.

Regards,

Col

The cluster just comes out from the front, there are special tools to pull it out,but always the risk of breaking glass. Best way is to lower the panel under the steering wheel, and the cluster can be pushed out from the rear, pushing first one side and the the other, it is tight, but once it start to move it will come out easily.

Malcolm,

Thanks for the reply, helpful as always. I was determined to get this MB service disc working, and managed to get the info on the cluster about 2 minutes ago. Judging by the diagram, there appears to be only 1 bulb near the odometer. I will have a better look when I have more time, thanks again mate.
