w210 Noisy Seat Belt

Hi all,

I have a W210 estate, and the O/S/F seat belt is driving me nuts. When it is being reeled in or out it make a screeching/howling noise which is very irritating. When you put it on and move in the seat, it makes the same noise. Anyone heard of anything like this? I this the tensioner is prolly knackered.
Any help appreciated.

The tensioner sits just above the belt reel, the reel can sometimes make a noise. If you are going to try and fix it the cover panel from B pillar must be taken off. The car battery must be disconected and wait 15 mins, You could apply a little lubricant to the center roller (not WD40).
Have you tried pulling the belt right out to max a few times, give it a go.
