Hi,we have a 1998/99 E300 Turbo Diesel, the electric fans are not working. When the engine temp is above 80 {well above}there is no feed to the fans. The fan on the passenger side works when an aux feed is connected to it,is there a belt to connect both fans and where is the sender unit to kick the fans in?thanks for looking,Les:confused:

the 2 fans at the front are for cooling the aircon. The fan between the rad and the engine is your engine cooling fan. Looking at the front of the car the one on the right is the drive which is engaged when the aircon gas gets too warm - a couple of minutes this time of year. Both fans should spin togehter and as they are connected by a belt (just did mine this morning.

A quick test is can you freely spin the one on the left and the one on the right not move ? If so, the belt has gone (mine had detached itself and wrapped itself around the drive fan).

If your belt has gone go the dealer (part no. MA011 997 00 92 BELT) (mine was a 2001 E320cdi and assume same set up). You will get change from £11.00.

Hope thisis your problem cos it's an easy and cheap fix. Can't claim any credit (Rob/Star ;)) see my post below for Rob's excellent how to.
