The electric sunroof on my w210 has stopped working along with the drivers side electric window.
When i got the car about 3 weeks ago with a fully charged battery it worked fine. Drove the car to its mot which was the first time on the road in about 10 months and both the window and sunroof stopped working?

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks

Jim

I take it that you mean that they don't move at all.
Sounds like a fuse problem.

I wouldn't think that it's a battery problem as all windows would stop working and you'd be experienceing other problems as well.

Usually if a windo stops working altogether then its a regulator problem. I'm sure that someone has posted about repairing these in the past.

Cant see how these things are linked

Fuse 16D is for the drivers door module, thats in fuse box B

That for cars up to1999

Without further searching the sun roof is not mentioned, so it could be part of the above fuse

Fuses boxes:
Engine bay,
Drivers side end of dashboard,
Rear seat.

I would say that you need to look at the dashboard fuses first.

Hi,
The only thing that i know of, common to both the front electric window and the sunroof, is the ellusive Comfort control relay which on a C class 202 is in the boot, not a clue on a w210 but try near the battery. Check for any cables disturbed cables in this area.

On cars up to 02-97 the fuse is fuse 30 in fuse box A in the rear, but on this car both front windows use the same fuse

As my earlier post fuse box F1 is under the bonnet and fuses b are the center row, its 15 amp

Thanks alot, much appreciated.

One question about the sunroof, its slightly dipped down at the back and not quite sitting flush with the roof. I dont think its letting any water in but would like to get it fully sealed just incase.

The owners manual mentioned a manual way of opertaing the sunroof, i found the tool and turned clockwise to try and fully close the sunroof. It did turn but did nothing but then i couldnt turn it anymore :?

OK and thank you, points noted, it does sound as Andy says and linked to the comfort module.

If you're after doing work on the sunroof, refer to my thread in the DIY section. It'll give you an idea of what you can do to adjust it.

Note that the sunroof seal isn't designed to be 100% watertight. There are drainage channels in the roof pillars for any waster which does get through.

When trying to move it manually, using the kinked tool, you'll find that there's quite a bit of resistance. Turning one way will drop the roof and retract it. Turning the other will close it and then after a harder bit tilt it up.

Malcom - I can't recollect do the control units on a w210 use CAN commands from the body controller or is it too old?

There is a small circuit and SAM, I was looking it up when we had a power cut, and that comuter did not like it, I will come back to it later

An update on the situation, with a freshly charged battery and and clean of the elcetric window switch the drivers electric window is now operating perfectly.

However the electric sunroof is still giving me problems. I do have the tool for operating it manually but it is very stiff and im am reluctant to turn against the resistance incase something breaks??
