w210 wheels/tyres

hi all
be gentle with me please
i am looking at upgrading my wheels from 15 " to 16"
i have seen a set of 16" with 225/55 tyres
however in one of my booklets (tech data saloon)
it states only 215 tyres on 16" wheels
although it doesnt state that i cant use 225
im at a loss what to do
please help
btw the new wheels are from a newer (02 onwards ) shape e class avantgarde

My W210 is 215/55/16 if that is any help.

Mine are 235/45/17

Provided the rim is wide enough and the offset correct i'm sure you will have no problems with regards to clearance or them actually fitting

There may be an issue with rolling radius changes affecting speedo accuracy but looking at the data from the above side comparing my tyres (235/45/17 v 225/55/16) there is a 1.65% difference between the two combinations resulting in a 1mph alteration to your speedometer

In simple terms i wouldnt worry the tyres should be fine

i just need to know if i can fit 225 tyres on them
well i know i can fit tyres on them (lol)
but because they are a bit wider on the larger wheels, will it compromise safety ?
and also will the wheels fit?

Wheels should fit but you need to know the pcd and offset to be sure.

No it wont effect safety , the W210 came with 235 tyres and larger from the factory , there are many options
