W211 Blank key reprogramming

Hi, I've managed to run one of my key fobs through the washing machine......it smells lovely...but now will not operate central locking. It still works in ignition and will start car, so I'm guessing the chip for CL has shorted.
Is it possible to program a blank key purchased from fleabay using the car.
I had a Jaguar in the past that had a sequence involving key in, press sequence of buttons to program.

Also depends on year - newish ones are MB only - they haven’t released the software - and they don’t cheap!

The new to me 2018 MB Eclass w213 that I bought 2 weeks ago, doesn't have the 2nd key either. How do I go about getting a spare key? All help appreciated!!

Thanks Blobcat, but I'm in the south of Ireland, and fairly removed from Birmingham. But may be worth contacting them to see if they could still do something long-distance, or do they need both the car and the keys to be physically present, We will see.

Its more of them having access to MB databases to get info to program a key or they may have means to read your key and clone it.
