Hi all
When stopping and coming to a halt, or pressing the brake pedal when stopped, there's a lot of creaking noises from the actual brakes themselves.
Did anyone know what the issue might be or what remedial steps should be taken to address this?
Cheers

Brakes haven't been changed recently. They have just started to creak, and have been doing so for a while. Particularly on the rear calipers

Strip down , clean and add some copper slip to the contact points on the pads ?

Are you sure it's not front ball joints? I've had them creaking with the suspension flexing and at times would swear it's coming from the back

Do you mean if you sit with brakes on and slightly lift the pedal off they can be made to creak ?, I have been able to do this with nearly all the automatic gearbox equipped cars I have owned .. it’s caused by the brake pads creaking /galling on the discs as the car starts to move forward very very slowly and nothing wrong with it …just the pads friction on the disc… very good trick to unnerve passengers though. I only ever hear the front brakes do it though , I suppose the rears will but do not recall ever hearing them.

New pads, discs and a rear offside caliper fitted. All cured.

Great news, thanks for getting back with the cure. Helps others in the future :)

Any harm if a spot of copper grease gets on the disc?
