Ever since having my 211 i have never quite got the 'feel' of the 'fly by wire' brakes
I seem to end up very close to the car in front when coasting in traffic due to lack of 'feel'
I have on a couple of ocassions been caught out by the car in front stopping suddenly ,from aboy 30 mph and applying 'full brakes' ABS comes in wheels lock unlock but the car does not seem to stop as quickly as you would think under that condition.
I know ............keep further away, it only happens maybe once a year but its requires a change of underwear.
I know there is nothing wrong with the brakes ,its driver
Be honest now , is it just me or is there a lack of feel on this type of braking system ? i believe its been replaced on the new model
many thanks

SBC brakes dont feel like your normal brakes, they are far better, have a few probs but stop like no other system, you say it "the driver" but i have driven more 211,s than i care to remember, never once ever had the feeling of not going to stop, if anything i would feel happier having SBC than normal brakes!!!

I really can't tell the difference between SBC and anything else. I know there's lots of trickery going on under the bonnet but it's all invisble to me. To be fair, merc brakes are a bit dead in the feel department but they all stop really well.

I have the odd burst, but drive light for the best part after getting cloked at 101 mph and getting away with it, any way have to keep the wheels clean

Check with your dealer to see if all the SBC updates & recalls have been done. These "should" be free of charge.
