Sorry to post again but my previous two posts regarding this matter have had no replies and I need to fix this problem. I have removed the plastic cover with the mirror closed, is the cover held on with the strong spring clip? If so if I unhook it how on earth will I get it back on? I am worried that if I remove it I won't be able to fix it. With the mirror closed the indicator works fine as soon as it starts to open it stops working so obviously a wiring fault. Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum. I dont know this model Dantis but it sounds like there is a loose connection somewhere in the mirror itself from what you have described.
Are you able to see the electrical connections with the mirror closed and the cover off? If so can you spot the connections that are vulnerable. Can you adjust any of them to see if the adjustment or prod makes a difference?
I suspect that the mirror is intended to be taken apart without too much trouble so that the light bulbs can be changed. Maybe you should take a chance and remove the spring if all else fails and then see once the problem has been cured how it should fit together.
These problems are sometimes conquered by trial and error and taking a chance.
Member Whitenemessis maybe able to help if he sees your post. I think member Dec is not too far away and is a whizz with these electrical problems. He too maybe able to help.

Whatever you do do not try to undo the spring with mirror in situ, I think there are either two or three retaining screws holding the assembly to the door, take them out and seperate the wiring multi plug, that is about as far as I can help with this problem though -sorry but I hope the above helps you to sort out the wiring/connection issue if it is in the mirror unit.

remove the tweeter cover on th inside of the door, there you will find 3 screws holding on the mirror, you will find the wiring has broken on the bend, easy to replace!
