w211 E270 reversing in drive?

Hi all,

First i have a w211 e270cdi (Auto).

Was parking the car in a car park today, reversed first to get into the upward sloped space, had to go forward a bit to align, but when i moved from R to D, when i accelerated it was still rolling backwards. Had to then put the handbrake on and try again, and then moved forward.

Anyone know if this is a sign of future problem?

There are 3 211 270 cdi cars the 016- 216 and the 616, though I have heard of this on earlier cars, its not listed for the 3 above.

Depending on the incline, it can roll (nearly rolled forward into the Aunts CLK whilst reversing out of her very steep drive yesterday). Also as the shift is basically electronic, it won't actually shift if it thinks that may damage the box - hence if the wheels were turning and you selected an opposing gear, it may refuse to shift until you've actually stopped.
