yep it happened - two cars got too close & my wing mirror is now damaged.Almost got away with it - just the led plastic or it glass cover broken - no other marks .drivers side mirror.

Dealer sells a replacement at £15-20 , so no drama there.

Does anyone know if the led cover/strip are dealer fit only ?? or is it a diy job that can be done relatively straight forward & if so how !!!?? any advice / pointers really appreciated - me part is in stock on wednesday so any feedback , needs to be soon !! otherwise can see its gonna be £20 for tha part and a £100 to fit !! - life never easy !

rgds to all,

John

To do it on the car push mirror glass in towards bottom, you will see a wire hook spring along top, one end will un hook and glass will come out. with glass removed you will see two black thin wires with inbuilt spade connectors pull them apart, these are the indicator wires. you will find 4 torx screws, holding the cover on, remove them and the cover can be lifted off. the indicator is just a push fit into the cover.
refit in the reverse order.
Version 2

fold mirror towards back
press retaining clip (located inside of the outer edge)
with suitable tool and remove ouside cover and the indicator can be unscrewed

Had my 210 one knocked off a couple of months ago. Undamaged so I tried to refit it myself but it wasn't on right. Specialist popped back on for me - 2 mins and no charge.
