My nearside electric folding mirror has ceased to fold, upon investigation it shows that the actual motor has a broken casing and the pivot wheel is now no longer located. This allows the whole mirror assembly to flap around in the wind.

This is where I need your help, please:

    1. Does anyone know if you can buy just the power folding motor? I have stripped down the mirror assembly and it looks like it's a stand alone part and not integrated in to the housing/frame.

    2. If the parts not available new, does anyone have a passenger side folding mirror assembly laying around that I can cannibalise?

    TIA

You can get a new mirror frame that has all of the parts on it minus the glass and cover

Hmmm... been looking at that option on Ebay and other places that retail Mercedes parts and it looks like an expensive repair. Looks like sellers want circa £200 for the electric folding mirror frame, when all I need is the small motor that folds the mirror in.

Was hoping that someone who frequents the forum has had a mirror fail or been impacted that has damaged the frame and not the actual folding motor.

All the parts are individual components, can't for the life of me see why Mercedes would produce an assembly from multiple components and then not sell those individual components..... it's just plain ripping off your customers.

There is another member posting right now that is buying a frame for his 203, it could be the same and maybe you can do a deal with him

Gosh thats on the heavy side pricewise I suggest this, it comes with a five year warranty it will take some getting used to but it will save you £85.

211 and 203 mirror frames are all 203 part numbers, only ones unique to the 211 are the facelift ones
