W211 Radiator connection to expansion tank

I just received a new radiator for my 2005 E280 auto.
New radiator matches OEM part no A2115002304, but does not have the small pipe on the top LH corner of the rad for connection to expansion tank.
The hose to the expansion tank connections to a Y piece, from which a hose goes off to the engine and the other back to the expansion tank.
I could remove the Y and connect engine hose direct to the expansion tank and delete rad connection to expansion tank.

Any thoughts?

I know the sensible thing is to send the rad back, but that will take a week....

A picture would help . But coolant in the radiator must be able to travel back and forth from expansion bottle for the system to work right , When the engine gets hot and parts expand coolant is transfered to the expansion bottle. Then when the engine cools down coolant will be drawn back to the engine from the expansion bottle . I would get it exchanged ,,,but thats me ..

Nothing special when it comes to radiators . Where did you purchase it from ? Take original to the shop with you,, for them to see ./

Got it from Auto-doc in France. Sending it back and already taj=ken the old one to the shop to get the right one.

Autodoc is ok once your sure the item is the right one for your model ..i have used my vin number and still they get the item i need wrong .
