As of this morning they don't work. And it's raining!
If I press 'screenwash' the washer washes and the wipers wipe twice as usual but they won't wipe on any of the other settings. Is this a relay/fuse issue or another of the inexplicable electronic glitches which seem to be standard issue on this model? Any thoughts gratefully accepted...

The wiper on your car is controlled from the N10/1 SAM and is fused from F57 rated at 15 amps in the front fuse box under the bonnet

SAM only gets its signals from the rain sensor, if thats not sending anything then that my first port of call! fuse is ok because as he said, the wipers work on a wash cycle!

Stalk Malc? the Sam receives the signals from the rain sensor, that in-turn puts the wipers on, if the SAM isn't receiving any signals it will just work as a normal system!

So it is the stalk then that is not giving the signals, though the rain sensor is not anyway, apart from the standard sweep at start up its all dead

You're right, Malcolm...except those awfully nice people at Temple Fortune now call the stalk a "combination switch" (they just go sometimes, sir...) and will charge £202. Indicate gently...

That is not too bad is it, you never know what life the combination switch had before you bought the car, pleased that you are fixed up
