Any ideas on how to protect the paintwork on the rear bumper of my E320 CDI Estate. It gets scuffed when the pooch jumps in and out and when loading heavy items. Does MB or anyone else sell a protective rubber strip or similar?
Would some of the transparent film used to protect paintwork from stone chips do the job? There seems to be plenty of 'systems' on the market. You would have to find someone willing to protect just a small area of paintwork - as you described.

I have a large blanket which is rubber backed (Argos i think a few moons ago). I use this as a liner and as it is bigger than the boot fold the edges up and the the end by the tailgate is about a foot too long. I simply foled this back on itself when pooch (weimeraner x 2) are not in, When they jump in or out simply flap the extra foot of blanket over the edge of thecar and protect the bumper - my bumper is currently scratch free and use this system 3/4 x week.
If you want to spend a bit more you can buy on ebay (or similar) rubber bootliners, and some of the companies doover length one just for this. Personally, my £10 washable blanket does just the trick.
