Sorry to pester you guys again but does anyone know for CERTAIN that the W211 SBC pump is covered by warranty for MORE than the standard 3 years, I think I am going to end up in an argument with my local Stealership tomorrow:mad: so I would love to be one step ahead of them.;)

I have seen it posted on here they have now extended the warranty to 10 years, a sdc search should find this. What is yours doing as mine plays up sometimes and wonderd what the symptoms are that it is on its way out?

Hi Alan,
The left hand rear disc started glowing when I was on the motorway and when I got home the brakes were free, it seems the SBC pump put the brakes on for no reason.
also the display came up 3 times with SBC NOT AVAILABLE SEE HANDBOOK.

Cheers

Hi I can assure you that Mercedes now say they will NOT cover any SBC Pump failures under goodwill gestures and they also say they never have, ****** awfull service on such an expensive vehicle if you ask me.I have also asked an Inde if who was a dealer and he said the same..

Alfie,

I took mine to MB for a service which they did and changed the SBC pump because it had "been oporated too many times". They did this under warantee. The car is a 2004 model.

Are we talking about the same as this:?

I think that if the pump shows a fault due to "too many counts" then MB know of this and will either rest the counter , or as it nearly always fails on the Star, renew the unit

If its wear and tear then I suspect they dodge the claim!

Replaced a Nov 2004 E class SBC pump yesterday. 131000 miles & Mercedes paid all costs under what's called an "Esculab" claim.

Hi Simon,
I now realise that my Dealer has not played fair to me, I am disgusted at their service and from now on will use an independant, my car had just turned 30k with full Mercedes Service History, :(

They certainly dodged my claim with only 30k miles on the car and full service history, Ba5tards:mad:
