W211 Steering knuckle

Hi, bit of a random question for you guys. My N/S front wheel bearing is worn, I've attempted repacking and adjusting the outside bearing but it will need changing, the allen screw is quite deeply recessed, there's also a bit of play but I don't want to go any tighter. It would seem possible the spindle is also toast although I'm not sure.

Given my symptoms what do you think, is this going to be an expensive bearing & spindle replacement job? Cheers

Bearing and seal kits are £25 not mb, Have it done by a garage and buy genuine mb parts. They can throw up all kinds of abs . Esp,power steering faults if using aftermarket kits. The bearing is meant to have free play because it expands when it gets hot. Tighten then too much and they soon fail , even welding themselves to the spindle. You can buy a hub complete for around £189 and save all the fuss . The leg with the spindle new are mortgage payment money. Around £380.

Also the allan key access is tight , even with a new hub fitted. You need the correct keys .

Thanks. Actually, I think I'm being paranoid about the spindle. But a bearing kit with the races you can replace inside the hub is no good?

Perfectly fine if done properly.
