W212 220 CDI Oil Leak

Morning folks, I’ve noticed the last couple of days an oil film on the wet drive under my car. I’m not in a position at the moment to further inspect however I ask for some blind help so I know where to look when I get a chance. What are the normal culprits of oil leaking on my car?

Hi Orb,

I am having a similar issue for the past few months with my W212 E220 2012. Brought the car to my mechanic. Replaced the oil filter housing and gaskets last week. Fast Forward to this morning, i went to get into my car to find an oil film near my wheel on the drivers side. I reversed the car slightly to find a lovely little puddle of oil. I cant seem to see anything from looking in the engine bay from above with the bonnet open. It looks dry to me.

Could this have been residue from other components where oil has dripped onto and then onto the drip tray. Yesterday and overnight were pretty wet and rainy. Or could this now be something else? Has anyone any experience of this or seen anything on the forum related. All info helps.
