All,

I am trying to find out if people have had a DAB/head unit conversion on a w212 E-class or similar, if so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I am located in the south east.

Cheers

Comand online in Surrey can probably do it for you.

You can also fit a simple DAB receiver and connect it to the AUX input

What head unit do you have currently?

Comand online @Alfie have an in2digi unit that fully integrates to an NTG 2.5 or NTG 4.5 head unit. I had one fitted to my R Class and it works very well.

You will need a DAB antenna as well.

part 150 sits in the boot

these days unless DAB+ don't fit it, the old one (DAB) is to be phased out and is in legacy support with dwindling channels out there - they are totally different systems

the in2digi one mentioned above is better and does both - yet as far as the car knows it was an original fit device (but its not a ebay 15 quid thing)

It can even be scanned on the MOST bus it integrates so well (although it does moan about unknown controller but still gives software and hardware details).

So far I'm impressed with it (and I have a stick on antenna on the front screen) and have less drop outs than FM.

Sound quality is also very good.

Undecided whether to go the 2Digi route or a compatible Android option which would seem to provide additional functionality.

Im confused on the price of the 2digi unit, Command have it listed for £399 though the detail page says it is £ 299, though also mentions this as being a special price for 2021.

Well having done a few trips up and down the country I must say I'm impressed. Only had one drop out so far and that was near Northampton. Been down to Luton, up to Birmingham, down to Reading and it's performed flawlessly.
