Hi Folks,

Apologies if this is the wrong area to post this. I've got a 2015 W212 E350 and want to fit a Quad Lock mount for my phone.

I've tried the universal adhesive mount on various surfaces and it just doesn't stick. I could try stronger adhesive, but don't want the bracket to end up becoming something I can never remove. I've currently got the Quad Lock air vent mount, but I've actually broken one of the vent slats because they really aren't designed to be pulled taught. So I have a few questions for anyone currently using a Quad Lock system in their W212.

1. Can you recommend a stronger adhesive than the supplied 3M VHB, which will stick to any surface, but isn't permanent?
2. Do any of you use the Quad Lock suction cup mount? I'm not keen on this as I don't like to obscure the windscreen, and think the windscreen may be a bit far away for a mount anyway, so it'll look untidy (especially with a trailing charging cable)
3. Any other Quad Lock solutions which might work in my car?
4. Can I just forget about Quad Lock and have my in car entertainment system upgraded to have Apple Car Play? I really only want it so I can continue using Google Maps, as I don't like the factory fitted nav. I don't want to have to install some kind of new head unit or replacement screen that requires dash disassembly, so if it can't be done via a software upgrade I'm not really interested.

Thank you for any hints or tips!

Nik
