Hi,

Looking for inspiration or experience to point me in the right direction

Have a 2012 E220 CDi which is in limp and throwing up the P244A7A (Pressure differential in DPF is too low. Leakage or defective seal detected) and P244A00 (the pressure differential in the DPF is too low)

Differential pressure sensor changed, reset on launch.....lasted about 10 miles. Was a smell of exhaust gases so found leak on exhaust where exhaust meets DPF/cat. Resealed and reset on launch. Still goes into limp as soon as under load. DPF showing almost empty. Any pointers on next things to look at.

Thanks in advance.

When my differential sensor was changed they had to manually start a regen cycle of the dpf. Only after this did the fault code clear

Do you know what percentage your dpf is at. Could be due to high soot and Ash

The sensor may require the codes to be erased and adapted ,otherwise old values are stored.

How long have you had the car? Has the DPF been definitely doing a regen previously? Have you been able to verify this via EGT temperature or activation of the rear heated screen (without activation via the centre console button)?

Is it possible the DPF has been gutted, and a service (particularly at Mercedes) has reprogrammed the ECU via STAR update and therefore removed coding that has been placed on the car to ignore the missing DPF?

Failing that, it sounds from the error like you need to make sure all the seals from the turbo down to the end of the exhaust pipe are 100% sound, but I'll admit this is a guess.

Thanks for quick reply I have had car from December 2019 couldn't tell if it's been doing a regen car ran great for nearly a year then eml came on took it to indie scan said dpf 400% mech said likely the dpf sensor so replaced it day later eml back on took it back said he forgot to reset OK for another day then eml back so decided to do it myself started looking into it then my gearbox packed up turned out to be the oil cooler leaking so I have now sorted that so back to original dpf problem now have flushed it out on car confident it's clean enough you think it's fixed then eml back read loads about it but nobody comes up with a fix. sorry for long winded reply will try your advice on checking exhaust seals and get back with results many thanks

Hello,
I have a Mercedes E220 CDI with the OM651 engine. I got the same errors P244A7A and P244A00, sometimes only the P244A7A.
It was driving me crazy. I changed 3 Bosch differental pressure sensors and one OM Mercedes. The issue was not solved.
My attention went to the particle filter. After I demounted I saw that it was cracked. The fault appeared only above 120-130 km/h while driving with a constant speed and load.
In the end I changed the DPF to a cheaper Kamoka 8010052 aftermarket particle filter.
The first test run was successful.

Dear Zooltan, exactly same issue, P244A7A only when speed exceed 125-130 km/h.. and very low differential pressure shown by diagnostic tool at any rpm, with brand new om sensor.. after changing DPF all good? is not cheapest part at all, even aftermarket

I have done 5000km since the DPF was changed. No errors since then.
I bought the Kamoka filter new, for 350 euro. It was worth it.

Hi, tried to inspect my dpf looking for internal damage, using a cheap endoscope, nothing looks cracked or damaged, anyway, error code is related with some leakage in/or near dpf, or accurate data miss readings by differential pressure sensor (brand new OM) make's me crazy..
i could only try to re calibrate sensor, have been done without dpf cleaning right before as i saw is recommended, could this be an issue?
P.S. when i took pictures, dpf had 65% fill percentage
