W212 E220 panoramic blind doesn’t work

Hi,

I have a W212 E220 with a panoramic roof. The sun blind for the roof has stopped working. When you press the button you can hear the motor run as it would normally, to retract the blind and then again to close the blind. However the blind stays hidden away.
With the weather getting warmer i realised today the sun beaming down on my bald head even through the tinted glass is a tad annoying.
Any thoughts what could it be stopping the blind from opening and closing?

Sounds like the drive motor gear has sheared away, seen a few now, if your careful with the head liner it can be done without fully removing the head liner!
