Hi all,
often, but not all the time, the passenger door does not open after unlocking. The thing pops up to show its unlocked but pulling the handle does nothing. From outside it sometimes opens on the third attempt, or if I lock/unlock again sometimes on the first attempt after.
Sometimes from the inside it doesn't open at all, no matter how many tries, but other times it opens first time no problem.
Any ideas on how to fix please? I've heard about perhaps resetting the key, how do I do that please? Or something about an actuator.... I would like to try myself to save money, I imagine I will need to take off the door panel, does anyone have experience of this problem or ideas or have links to diagrams please?
Many thanks all!

Hello and welcome

It won’t be anything to do with the key of the other doors are opening. I’d go for the basics first and get some lubricant into the lock and work it repeatedly until it’s fully lubed.

After that it would be door card off for me and check the mechanism from the inside

Just for future reference, and in case you need to order parts, if your E Class is a coupe then it’s a C207 not W212 (which is the saloon version built on a different platform).
