W212 E350 Gear changes

Hi folks

I've found that when changing down from 5 to 4, usually when going up a hill there's a pronounced "jerk". It doesn't happen with other changes, just this one. Before I had this vehicle I had an E350 coupe, same engine and box and this tended to do that as well. Could it be that this is a characteristic of the 7G tronic box?

Whats the cars mileage , when was the last gearbox atf and filter change , when is the next one due ?
Any fault codes stored on the car ?

Mileage is 67k, atf etc. changed at 40k. Car's going into local indy on Wednesday, I'll get them to check STAR.

Is this when you are changing manually?

Is this under any load or going up/downhill?

I have the 7g in an S350 and a CLS320 and have not noticed what you describe despite using the gears manually going down and up including 5th and 4th.

I notice it when going up a hill in drive - in 5th, car realises it needs 4th and the change down is noticeable - something of a "snatch" - not that smooth.

Turns out it needed a software upgrade... seems better now.
