w212 exhaust on w204

Does anyone know if the rear silencers from a w212 E class would fit in the recess on a w204 C class? Unfortunately the ones on the C class have 2 smaller pipes coming out to a single tip and I've been told that makes it impossible to weld on the aftermarket quad tips. Other than that they appear to be very similar.

I'm also considering just replacing the whole rear part, from the Y joint back in the picture below. It might be more economical if I could just have the whole thing bolted or welded on rather than a full custom job, but I know the E class is a longer vehicle.
I'd be interested to know if chopping off part of the straight pipe at the front would make it fit - the bends seem to be in the right place, but I have no idea of the actual dimensions.

In short, no. The straight pipe isnt straight,and the bends will be in the wrong place.

IF you took the exhausts to an exhaust place, they would make it fit by cutting and welding where required.

Ok, thanks. Not worth the bother then - I can't find any locally and shipping something that has to be extensively modified doesn't make sense. I doubt the cutting and welding would be any cheaper than having them bend a new piece of pipe to fit.

I'd still be interested to know if the w212 mufflers would fit in the space under a w204.
I only ask because there are loads of them for sale - if I could find a pair from a C350 CDI it shouldn't be a problem because as far as I know the chassis is the same as the C200 CDI. I'd appreciate being corrected if I'm wrong on that.
