W212 Right Cornering light

Hi, my 2010 W212 E class Aventgarde had a warning light appear in the last week.


It is 'right Corning light'. However I can't see any bulb which is out too replace.

Any ideas?

How are you checking the lights?

The cornering light may only illuminate with the steering turned or indicator operating with IGN on?

Turning the wheel in my garage with engine on.

Will look closely when I head to the shop soon.

Assume the right cornering light is not the indicator but the option light that illuminates wherever you are turning the wheel towards as standard on Aventgarde.

I got the same message this morning when going around a roundabout, is it referring to the hockey shapped LED light ?

That is a daytime running/driving lamp Niall, it cannot be that, maybe a bulb in the head lights.

In the older system the fog lamp was used Niall, this fog lamp is now in the headlamp as far as I can tell, so turn the lamps on and full the knob out one notch to fog lamps.

Indicate to the opposite side to see what light should come on, not sure if it will light up in daylight though.
If you have a light sensor on the screen it might need to be covered to test during the day.

found an online manual for the W212 here and in there i found info about the cornering light - i'll attempt to change the bulb tomorrow !

the picture below shows it in #1, i don't know why but all my uploads appear TINY even though the original picture is big and clear, it's auto resizing them to crap reading quality. sux

anyhow, the bulb is visible looks like a halogen, i'll try and figure out how to remove it tomorrow, and take a photo or two if appropriate

The left should be your nearside

Yes, the sitting in the car is the only safe way of doing this.

Should always be as viewed from the driver's seat.

On universal joints as well,one of those "how the hell did they get it in" and "Ouch,now I can't see it for blood" jobs. The people who put light bulbs in such places should be sentenced to a lifetime of replacing them.
