Am about to order an E350 Cdi Avantgarde saloon. It will be a pre facelift version hence excellent deal. Correct if I am wrong but I believe that he AG comes with the same suspension as the Sport albeit on 17" wheels as opposed to 18s. Is it worth opting for the comfort suspension. I do not think that the Sports suspension is too firm but to me ride comfort is important. My only concern with the comfort suspension is that it will be too wallowy going round corners.

Does anyone have any experience of which is the best choice

Thanks

I've driven a 212 sport. Even in sport format it was very soft and comfortable. It looked so much better with the sport kit. The suspension is the same as the sport but its got the smaller 17s.

My only comment would be to test drive both variants yourself.

Ride comfort is such a personal thing..

I can only go by whats been said on here, the sports suspension is hard, if you have the choice of comfort suspension, then do take it along with the smaller wheels

I have the Avantgarde, and the standard suspension is very comfortable, but still firm enough to be precise when cornering with no wallow.

The only caveat to my comment is be aware I have the estate, which has (non-adjustable) airmatic on the rear.

I have a 350CDi AG saloon and confirm it is very comfortable and handles well. Much less direct than my SL but it is a compromise after all.

The 350CDi that I had for 24hrs as a demonstrator was a Sport and I don't remember it feeling significantly stiffer. What did it for me was that the Sport was about +£2k and still didn't have leather!
