Hi there,

Looking to buy a replacement battery for my W213 E22d. Found the correct AGM battery however its slightly bigger brother is available for a few pennies more = EK960 / 95Ah / 017.

Just wondering if the battery length of 353mm will fit into the original battery mount for the W213.

The original battery is 315x175x190.

Many thanks!

I doubt it!

I fit Varta try Tanya they deliver next day

Yep looking at Tayna right now and found the EK960. I'm guessing this battery may be for the cold climate option or something but the current battery is a 82ah just not sure if that was the original or if the previous owner replaced it with a smaller one. Hard to find online what the official battery actually is. Just a bunch of 'recommendations' which are all difference capacities/sizes.

Many thanks!

We fitted huge batteries to LHD 124 and 201. In both cases, we did need to change the tray under the battery. No other problems.

Any experience with W213? Just wondering if the original tray/space allows for longer battery, as some do with notches and spacers/sliders etc. I mean its only 4cm difference which is not a whole lot but if it overhangs then it won't be suitable obviously.

Sorry, I don't even know what a W213 is without Googling.

On my 300CE, I cut the end off the battery tray to fit the wide battery. No problems.

Then, when the mechanics were restored, I bought a couple of new, wide battery trays and fitted it. Gave the other to my son for his 201 - I do too much for that boy!!!

And we both have huge, genuine MB batteries as they were the best price.

Thanks but does anyone have any info on the W213? Any idea if the battery tray can accommodate the extra 4cm of length? Many thanks!

(I can't check myself as the bonnet latch needs repair and have booked in the battery replacement at the same time)

I'd be waiting to measure the battery tray before committing to buy a battery which may be too big.
